Indie rock band, Catfish and the Bottlemen, brought their raw, garage-band style to the Varsity Theater, in Dinkytown, last night. In their first stop on their North America 2015 Tour, they found an animated, near capacity crowd ready to hear this gritty Welsh group.
Frontman Van McCann did not disappoint, showing why their new release, The Balcony, has been so well received in the U.K. Their emotion and heart in their music recalls other groups like Feeder, using the same catchy lyric style.
Highly Suspect from Brooklyn, NY opened the night. The hard-hitting progressive blues rock three-piece put on one hell of a set. Playing with the finesse and showmanship you would expect from any headliner, I’m sure we’ll be hearing big things about them very soon.
