Been to a local record store lately – the vinyl kind? Record Store Day, this Saturday, April 18th will showcase over 600 artists nationwide. Twin Cities is home to more than 25 totally independent shops, like Hymie’s Vintage Records. They are hosting an outdoor block party featuring 2 stages and 14 bands. It’s also a release part for local group Black Diet, an indie-soul band.

Electric Fetus, opening at 9 AM, will have DJ playing live music all day, including Middle Class Rut, who will later be opening for Chevelle Saturday night at the Myth.

With a dozen plus artists releasing limited-edition vinyl to celebrate, this yearly event is blowing up. This year’s releases include new music from Tv of the Radio, Mumford & Sons, Gwar , Tegan and Sara, and much more.
