LANY was the opening act for John Mayer this past saturday night at the Xcel Energy Center. Describing themselves as a product of Mayers music, LANY has a unique sound that Incorporates heavy synths with 80’s and 90’s R&B music. Although the audience is nowhere near LA, LANY’s music could make us feel ourselves winding up mulholland drive at sunset.

While the audience was quick to dance and sway in their seats, It appeared to take lead singer Paul Jason Klein a couple songs to warm up, and make use of the stage around him. It was the second night of their tour opening for Mayer, and perhaps the crowd of around 13,000 was a little much to take in at first. Nonetheless, they were in top form after a couple songs, with incredible response from the audience.

LANY is familiar with the way of the road, opening for Ellie Goulding and X Ambassadors in previous tours, before embarking on a world tour for themselves last year. Their self titled debut album is slated for release On June 30th, but they have a few EP’s out that can tie fans over until then, including their newest single It Was Love.
