Tuesday, July 19th, hip hop lovers rendezvoused at Cabooze in Downtown Minneapolis for the likes of Warren G and openers The Perfect Rejects. I could smell the cannabis in the air about a block away, so I knew I was in the right place! It was a madhouse once I entered the building; bottles of Jack Daniels were being passed throughout the crowd and one performer even passed out some special chocolate chip cookies! Whether you were a middle aged white couple, a new to the game teen, or even a man dressed as an old school pimp, you were sure to be at this show.

The openers, The Perfect Rejects, was definitely an act like never before. This hip hop band consisted of guitarists, drummers, and rappers, believe it or not! It’s rare that something so unusual works, but The Perfect Rejects does! They definitely set the vibe for the night. Whether you came in knowing them or not, you definitely left a fan!

Once Warren G finally took stage, the crowd was full and buzzing! He is like no performer I have yet to see! All of his top hits were present, and you can bet the audience sang along through every verse. Women hopped on stage from  the ages of 18 to 48 to get a chance to dance on Warren G. It was like an old school party that would never end!

When I finally had the nerve to call it a night, my knees were weak and my voice sore! This was the ultimate dance/hip hop party of the summer, and the city of Minneapolis was there to experience it!
